Original TURTLE Loom™ "fine sett" - Hexagon Pin Loom, About 4" Weaving Size, for Fingering/Sock Yarns (Gen 2)
USE THIS LOOM TO MAKE THE "INDIAN BLANKET FLOWER AFGHAN" BY GABI VAN TASSELL IN THE "LITTLE LOOMS 2020" MAGAZINE
The TURTLE Loom™ "fine sett" allows you to weave hexagons using fingering weight yarn (often referred to as "sock yarn"). This loom sett works best with yarns that are labeled with a knitting gauge of 24-26 sts/4" or about 10 epi. Please be aware that yarn information can vary, though, and that you may wish to achieve a special effect with thicker/thinner yarns.
The patented weaving method is the same as for all TURTLE looms. Follow our detailed instructions to use an easy and unique weaving method to create beautifully handwoven hexagons. Using fingering weight yarn creates hexagons with a nice drape for a perfect, versatile fabric.
You can create your own pattern or use many of the patterns that are available for the original TURTLE Loom™ to make coasters, dish cloths, table runners, pillows, stuffed toys, scarves, hats and other accessories, clothing, and let’s not forget … throws and blankets in all sizes.
The loom is made of quality Birch plywood, finished beautifully with two coats of traditional clear Shellac, sealed with satin Poly. Headless, stainless steel pins ensure a pleasant weaving experience. The hexagon weaving area measures a little less than 4” side-to-side, and each of the six hexagon sides measures a little over 2”.
The loom kit contains:
1 TURTLE loom™ "fine sett"
1 Locker Hook 6.5" locker hook (size 2.75mm, color may vary)
1 plastic packing/beating comb (1 comb per order)
1 project storage bag
1 instructions booklet (1 booklet per order)
